Welcome to Faith!
Thank you for your interest in Faith Presbyterian Church. Many have found Faith to be a remarkable community of believers. We invite you to join us as we seek to Follow the Path of Christ. Whether through Sunday morning worship, a fellowship opportunity, or serving together in the church or community, know that you are welcome! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.
What to Expect
Expect to find a parking space reserved just for you on your first visit! Expect to be greeted and handed a worship bulletin. Expect to find a sanctuary full of people genuinely happy to see one another. Expect to see folks dressed in formal suit and tie and other folks dressed more casually. Expect to see a diverse community of worshipers. Expect a brief time in the service where greetings are exchanged and people will introduce themselves to you. Expect a worship service with wonderful music, timeless liturgy, prayer, a special time with the children, scripture, biblical based sermons, and a challenge to go out into the world to serve. And expect a gift if you stop by the visitor's table after the service!
What About Sunday School?
You and your family are invited to participate in our many educational events designed to help feed your spirit. There are many Sunday School classes to choose from; they meet at 9:30 on Sunday mornings. It's never too late to join a class. Take steps to continue your Christian Journey. Just show up! Please note that we do not have Sunday School during the summer months. Instead, come have breakfast with us each summer Sunday at 9:30!
How Do I Become a Member?
We encourage all prospective members to visit several times before deciding to join the church. Once you feel ready to make Faith your church home by uniting with this church family, you can indicate your desire on the friendship pad, located at the end of the church pew, or speak with a pastor or staff member on Sunday or any other day by appointment.
You begin the process of church membership in one of three ways – by a reaffirmation of faith, letter of transfer or baptism. The next step is to attend one of our new member classes, which occur periodically throughout the year. After completing the class, you will be invited to meet with the Session, the governing board of the church, and profess your faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The final step in the membership process is to be introduced to the congregation at a worship service, publicly reaffirming your faith in Christ. Contact Cheri Harkema to sign up for the next membership class.
What We Believe
It is our mission to Follow the Path of Christ . . .
. . . into Discipleship. We study God’s word, practice the spiritual disciplines, discover our gifts for ministry, find our vocation, and minister in Christ’s name.
. . . into Christian Community. We are united in the body of Christ, which includes people of all races and nations, ministering to each other and to the world, according to our gifts.
. . . into the future. We learn how to interpret the Bible for our times and endeavor to discern God’s will in an ever-changing world.
We would love to see you soon!
