We are so aware of how much God has blessed us at Faith Presbyterian Church! In return, there are many opportunities at Faith to share those blessings with others:
Faith's communion ministry to shut-ins, The Furthest Pew, is entering its 4th year as a project of the Worship & Music Committee. We are in dire need of volunteers who are ordained deacons or elders, active or inactive. Ordination is required by the Book of Order to serve communion, and the volunteers must serve two-by-two. Orientation and on-the-job training are provided. As our referrals increase and several current volunteers have had to resign, The Furthest Pew needs help to meet our summer schedule. The shut-in and homebound eagerly await visits on communion Sundays! And they so look forward to this contact with their beloved Faith Church. If you are an officer, please consider volunteering, even as a substitute, on a Sunday afternoon, once per month, to assist in serving communion. We need 20 volunteers to serve 10 people, and we currently have only 14. To volunteer, please contact Carol Goughnour, , or 222-0529.
Did you know the front church office is manned solely by volunteers? We need people with friendly, smiling faces to answer phones and greet visitors to the office. If you would consider doing this, or have questions about it, please contact Teresa Sarbeck, , or Randy Zepp, .
Join Faith volunteers on Friday, May 19, as they prepare and serve lunch for the hungry at the Kearney Emergency Shelter. If you would like to participate, please contact Cathi Wilkinson, .
Manna on Meridian
The next Manna is Saturday, May 20, and there are many ways to volunteer. People are needed to bag, shop, bring hospitality items, pick up bread, etc. Please contact Rob McNeely, .
Greet WORSHIP Visitors
Are you a people person? The Evangelism Committee is responsible for manning the visitor table in the church lobby each Sunday morning, greeting visitors, making them feel welcome, and answering questions about Faith. If you would like to participate in the rotation of this vital part of Faith's ministry, please contact Frank Walper at
We are so thankful to currently have 11 different people (or couples) to change our two marquee signs. Each person/couple takes one month during the year and changes the sign each Sunday or Monday. If we can get one more person or couple to volunteer, we will have all 12 months of the year covered! Could it be you? Contact Cheri Harkema, .
