Faith Library
The Mission
The mission of the Faith Library is to provide, catalog, and organize inspirational and informational material to members of the congregation and religious leaders and students to foster spiritual growth in the Christian faith. The library also seeks to provide materials for recreational reading and enjoyment and encourage literacy at Faith Presbyterian Church.

The Collection
The Faith Library, located adjacent to the Church Parlor, contains over 5,000 items. The collection includes books mostly of a religious nature, reference materials, videos, CD's and DVD's for personal enjoyment and study. The collection includes both adult and children's materials. In addition to books of a religious nature, the collection also includes biography, fiction, and nonfiction.

The Children's Library is located across the hall from the Church Library in the Christian Education Room and includes books, videos, DVD's and CD's for preschoolers through teens.

Most of the collection is cataloged using the Dewey Decimal System. There is a card cataloger, as well as a list of current library holdings in the computer in the library. Recently, the library has added almost 100 books of contemporary fiction and nonfiction that are not cataloged as part of the permanent collection, but which may be checked out as well.

The Faith Library is maintained by the members of the Library Committee, a group of dedicated volunteers. If you wish to be a part of this ministry, please contact one of the following members of the Library Committee: Sue Colombo, Candy Woodward, Linda Heller, Sally Borland, Ley Pichard, Susan Van Leuven, Pep Culpepper, Kay Trammel.

Church members may check out materials for a period of two weeks:

  • Write your name and phone number on the card and the date of check out.
  • Leave the signed card in the box above the card catalog.
  • Return materials within two weeks in the basket on top of the card catalog.

Donations may be made for the purchase of an item in honor or memory of a loved one or to celebrate a special occasion or accomplishment. Donors may request the purchase of a particular title or have book purchased from the library wish list. A bookplate will be placed inside the front cover of the book. Checks may be made out to Faith Presbyterian Church. Please contact Karen Hill, Church Administrator, or a member of the Library Committee to make a donation.
